Meet the Team

I am Sam Hawthorne, and have been Manager since September 2017.

I completed a PGCE in 2001 and have taught in a range of educational settings, including a school for children with Speech, Language and Communication Difficulties.I am qulaified in Paediatric First Aid, Advanced Safeguarding and Food Hygiene. I have 17 years previous experience of working with children.

Simon Frances became our Deputy Manager in 2017. He started working with us as relief staff after his son attended the club. He is also qualified in Paediatric First Aid and Advanced Safeguarding. He has an NVQ level 2 in Playwork and is studying for his Level 3 qualification.

Brett Ward is our Senior Playworker. He grew up locally, has a variety of experience and has been with us as relief staff since mid 2009. He has NVQ level 2 in Playwork and is trained in Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding, Food Hygiene and Inclusion.

Andrea Shillito is one of our Playworkers. She holds an NNEB qualification as well as an NVQ Level 3 in Playwork. She is trained in Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding and Food Hygiene.

Bianca Midgeley is also one of our Playworkers. She has an NVQ Level 3 in Playwork and is trained in First Aid and Safeguarding.

Lindalva Walker is a Level 3 Teaching Assistant. Her main focus at the club is to support our children with Special Educational Needs.

Adam Turner joined us as a permanent member of staff after working as relief staff. He is trained in Paediatric First Aid, Food Hygiene and Safeguarding.

Evelyn Albrow joined us in September 2018. She comes to us with experience in leading children's worskshops. She is trained in Safeguarding.

Kathryn Wade joined us in September 2018. She has completed a degree in Education, Culture and Childhood and has worked in children's holiday clubs. She is trained in Paediatric First Aid and Safeguarding

We also employ relief staff to provide cover in the absence of those above. Our relief staff team currently comprises Jessica, Lucy and Jane.
